Barbara Lenton - Action Challenge

A 100 km walk from London to Brighton in 24 hours

It was my mother who introduced me to the Bansang Hospital Appeal that she had been supporting for years. Through her I became familiar with the charity and it was a natural move for me, when she died, to continue this support in her memory.

I have a passion for being outdoors, specifically walking and, having undertaken a few long distance walks, including one of the Camino routes in Spain last year, an idea began to grow that it might be possible to take part in a 100 km walking challenge in 24 hours. My son completed this a few years ago and I remember well just how gruelling it was, so it is only recently that I have found the courage to take this on.

I feel fit and ready, as best I can be, to walk from London to Brighton on Saturday 25 May. My first goal is to complete the 100 km route in 24 hours and my secondary goal is simply to get to the end…however long it takes. I hope you feel moved to support me in my efforts, link below to donate.

The London 2 Brighton is an Ultra Challenge organised by Action Challenge who have been organising challenge events and adventures in the UK as well as worldwide since 1999. By joining an Action Challenge event ensures support all the way through - access to training plans, training events, kit hire, briefings as well as on the day catering, medics, massage and feeding stations.

Over the years 100,000 adventurers have taken on an Ultra Challenge, raising over £40 million for charities and their 16 unique yearly events make up the UK’s biggest and best series of treks and runs.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me please click on the link below to donate;

I am absolutely thrilled that my dear friend Barbara is taking on this challenge and in so doing raising funds for BHA. All funds raised will go towards  our next project in Bansang and that is to refurbish and fully refit a delapidated building that will become the homes for seven staff members and their families.
