Current location: Nearing Palencia, NW Spain
Anita, 5:47pm; “Covered over 600 kilometers of near deserted motorway; all centre sections are planted with oliander, broom and Cyprus trees so you can’t see oncoming traffic. Mountains, vineyards and cattle made for an ok journey. Then………tried to find accommodation, so desperate after 4 hours that we opted for a hostel in a service station, stinks like a sewer. Looking out over fields full of handsome bulls no doubt destined for the ring and the matador and the baying crowds. The past couple of days I’ve been suffering from stomach cramps and loss of appetite – not surprising! I guess I’ve been pretty lucky considering everything. Leaving from plasencia heading for palencia. x x”
