Current location: 140 miles from Santander (where the team will catch the ferry back to England!)
Anita, 6:58am; (talking about previous day) “Short day today thank goodness as stomach is still playing up, in bed again by the afternoon. Managed a salad sandwich and spent the rest of the day being entertained by a couple of Germans – great people. I look at bikers in a completely different way as to how I perceived them as a teenager….mind you that was a very long time ago. The scoots team are amazing and the realization of journeys end gets nearer as we head the 140 miles to Santander. Not looking forward to crossing the Bay of Biscay. X x
Anita, 10:45am; “Hard frost this morning, just going through Cantabria mountain range – which is still covered in snow. Listening to Andy Williams much to Ian’s distaste…he’s a Led Zeppelin fan. Now at 3,200 foot – temperature is down to zero. Snowed last night, snows still banked each side of motorway….can’t believe the contrast from searing heat of the desert to this bleak wintry scene. To think I only have my old flip flops that have managed to last the course! I do look a bit of an idiot”
